Species Globotruncanella petaloidea Gandolfi 1955

Discussion / Comments:
Caron (1985):
The species differs from G. havanensis and G. citae in having only 4 instead of 5 chambers in the last whorl, which gives it a petaloid aspect in equatorial view. In edge view, chambers appear compressed, lined by an imperforate peripheral band.
Van Eijden & Smit (1991):
Remarks. G. petaloidea is rare in the Maestrichtian at Site 758.
