Discussion / Comments: |
Rögl (1985):
The test has an interiomarginal spiroumbilical aperture extending along the spiral suture for one or two, seldom more chambers and is without a lip. In addition, individual sutural apertures may be present on the spiral side on earlier chambers of the last whorl. The spiroumbillical aperture is typical for the genus Globigerinopsis, the additionall secondary ones for Globi
gerinoides into which genus the taxon is placed here. it occurs sparsely in the Middle Miocene, Upper Lagenidae Zone of the Vienna Basin and in greater numbers in the zone with arenaceous foraminifera, where it represents approximately the Globorotalia fohsi fohsi Zone.
