Iaccarino (1985):
G. partimlabiata was considered by its authors as a subspecies of G. acrostoma. However no transitional forms have been seen in the long interval from the last occurrence of G. acrostoma to the first occurrence of G. partimlabiata. For this reason the two taxa are here considered as separate species.
G. partimlabiata differs from G. acrostoma in having a more narrowly rounded periphery. Its aperture is higher and arranged perpendicular to the ceiling direction and bordered by a distinct but incomplete lip. Giannelli & Salvatorini (1976) also recorded specimens with lips completely bordering the aperture. The latter authors consider G. partimlabiata as a junior synonym of their G. melitensis which they illustrated but did not describe in 1975. G. partimlabiata shows similarities with G. mayeri, which, however, has a more rounded profile and an aperture that is not perpendicular to the coiling direction.
According to its authors it is possible that G. partimlabiata could he considered as a morphotype of G. peripheroronda. However, the two taxa have morphologic features sufficiently different not to he confused.
