Kroon & Nederbragt (1990):
Gallitellia viuans has globular chambers and
deeply depressed sutures. Its aperture is a small symmetric
arc at the base of the last chamber. Some fullgrown specimens
show the development of multiserial chambers. Gallitellia uivans has been reported from Recent and Quaternary
sediments in the Pacific, the Indian Ocean, Indonesia
and the Gulf of Mexico. We found it in a late Pliocene sample from Timor, Indonesia, sample Tim179 [for details, see De Smet et al., submitted (b) 1. We found living G. vivans in Snellius Cruise GO plankton tow samples (see Fig. 2). |
