Griffin & Nielsen (2008):
TYPE MATERIAL. Holotype of Cassis monilifer: NHM-G26364 (Navidad); two syntypes of Cassidaria tuberculifera are housed in the Typothèque of the Laboratoire de Géologie under number MNHN-Gg2002/52. REMARKS. The specimen figured as Cassis tuberculifera by Philippi (1887, pl. 8, fig. 2) does not belong in this species. The species name is correctly spelled “monilifera”.
