Species Oliva dimidiata Sowerby 1946

Discussion / Comments:
Griffin & Nielsen (2008):
TYPE MATERIAL. Five syntypes and 2-3 fragments: NHM-G26352, NHM-G26353, NHM-G26354, NHM-G26355, NHM-G26356 (Navidad). REMARKS. Lamprodomina dimidiata is the only member of the genus apart from the type species L. neozelanica (Hutton, 1885) from the middle Miocene to Pliocene of New Zealand. It is well known from Navidad to Stokes Island, Chonos Archipelago, and usually very abundant where it occurs. Lamprodomina dimidiata is very similar to L. neozelanica which is larger and more strongly shouldered.
