Species Amphidesma radula Hupé 1854

Discussion / Comments:
Griffin & Nielsen (2008):
TYPE MATERIAL. Three syntypes were found in the Collection of the Laboratoire de Géologie, at the MNHN in Paris. These are housed there in the Typothèque under number MNHN-Gg2002/98. REMARKS. All three syntypes are unidentifiable internal moulds. One of the specimens seems to be the one figured by d’Orbigny (1842, pl. 6, fig. 2), but does not show the crack that the figured specimen has. The only trace of a crack on it is near the umbones. This species remains a nomen dubium
