Griffin & Nielsen (2008):
TYPE MATERIAL. The holotype is housed in the Typothèque of the Laboratoire de Géologie under number MNHN-Gg2002/53.
REMARKS. The holotype is clearly a species of Retrotapes del Río, 1997. Shell outline resembles closely Retrotapes ninfasiensis (del Río, 1997), only that the shells are conspicuously more inflated and the nymphae seem to be much stronger. Unfortunately, the shell interior is not available in the holotype and we have no comparable material from Chiloé available for further examination. |
