Subspecies Praeorbulina glomerosa glomerosa Blow 1956

Diagnosis / Definition:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test ovoid to nearly spherical, chambers spherical, last chambers increasing rapidly in size; final chamber much inflated and enveloping the earlier part of the test up to more than 40 percent; sutures curved depressed; surface distinctly cancellate; primary aperture of the early portion covered by the last embracing chamber; several small crescentic and slitlike openings along the basal suture.
Discussion / Comments:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Pr. glomerosa glomerosa differs from Pr. glomerosa curva in having a more enveloping final chamber and more numerous supplementary sutural apertures. It is an intermediate from between Pr. glomerosa curva and Pr. glomerosa circularis.
Bolli & Saunders (1985):
P. glomerosa glomerosa differs from P. glomerosa curva in having more apertures around the base of the last chamber and in possessing a test that is almost spherical in outline due to the high degree of envelopment by the last chamber.
