Remarks: The aperture and umbilicus on the
paratypes figured by the original author (1980, Fig.
2, 6-8) are obscure, but the SEM photograph of
the paratype illustrated by us (Plate 2.5, Fig. 3)
appears to have an aperture of conoglobigerine
type - an intraumbilical low arch, similar to that
of C. dagestanica Morozova. However, the holotype
was drawn by Kuznetsova (1980, Fig. 2,
5a-e) showing the aperture to be an interiomarginal
low arch, intra-extraumbilical in extent; this
may have been a deformed specimen and should
be re-examined. |
