| Diagnosis / Definition: |
Quilty (1976):
Description: Test very small (0.20 mm), delicate. Four chambers in the final whorl. Wall structure features apparently obscured by dissolution. Dorsal surface almost plane, ventral surface convex. Ventral sutures more depressed but still only broadly and shallowly depressed;
straight, radial. Chambers increase rapidly in size. Umbilicus small, quite deep. Aperture entirely extraumbilical extending from halfway to the periphery to the periphery; a low arch of uniform height, with
weakly developed rim. |
| Discussion / Comments: |
Quilty (1976):
Remarks: No obvious relationships with other species are known. There are similarities with a specimen of G. (T.) nkbrowni Brönnimann and Resig, figured by them (1969, pi. 40, fig. 6). There is no dorsal sutural supplementary aperture and the aperture of the specimen figured is entirely extraumbilical. Another possible relationship is with Hastigerina siphonifera praesiphonifera Blow, of
which it could be a juvenile. |
