Species Lilliputianella bizonae Chevalier 1961

Discussion / Comments:
Banner & Desai (1988):
The species is characterised by inflated chambers with distinctly convex sides, especially on the umbilical side of the test, and with broadly and very deeply depressed intercameral sutures. The chambers become radially elongate and swollen in the latter half of the last whorl, and are distally broadly rounded or broadly pointed: these chambers attain their greatest breadth beyond the limits of the intercameral sutures (unlike L. kuhryi,in which the greatest breadth of each chamber is attained while adjacent chambers are still in contact). L. bizonae characteristically possesses a broad, shallow umbilicus in which relict apertures of at least the last three chambers are visible, and the radial elongation of the chambers in the latter part of the last whorl produces all gradations from highly domed to pointed ovoid within and between tests.
Boudagher-Fadel et al. (1997):
Remarks: This species is characterized by having 5,5 to 6 chambers in the last whorl, which become radially elongated and broadly pointed, and a broad, shallow umbilicus in which relict apertures of at least three chambers are visible. The type specimens of bizonae and bollii are identical (our Plate 9.3, Figs 8-10 and Figs 15-17, respectively), and are therefore considered here to be synonymous.
