Diagnosis / Definition: |
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test medium to low trochospiral, biconvex, equatorial periphery slightly lobulate, axial periphery subangular to angular with a keel-like rim; chambers strongly compressed, crescent shaped, four to five in the final whorl, increasing moderately in size as added; sutures on spiral side strongly curved, slightly raised; on umbilical side, radial to
slightly curved, depressed; surface smooth, penetrated by numerous circular pores , slightly pustulose on early chambers on umbilical side, umbilicus narrow, shallow; aperture interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical, a low slit with a pronounced lip. |

Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
This species is distinguished from Gr. (G.)praescitula by its smooth surface and subcircular outline. Globorotalia subscitula Conato and Globorotalia wilesi Thompson are closely related forms. |
