Diagnosis / Definition: |
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test medium to large, low trochospiral; chambers spherical to subspherical, increasing slowly in size as added, five to six
in the final whorl; sutures distinctly depressed, often with a reduced final chamber (kummerform). Surface similar to Gg. (Gg.) bulloides. Umbilicus very large, deep. Aperture large, umbilical, with a thin lip. |
Discussion / Comments: |
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
This species differs from Gg. (Gg.) bulloides in exhibiting one or two more chambers in the final whorl distinctly incised sutures on the spiral side, and more conspicuous umbilicus. Dominantly a temperate species. |
