Alternative name: |

Diagnosis / Definition: |
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test very small, low trochospiral, equatorial periphery subcircular, lobulate, axial periphery broadly rounded to subangular, slightly biconvex; five to six chambers
in the final whorl; increasing uniformly in size as added, chambers on umbilical side more inflated; sutures on spiral side curved, depressed; on umbilical side sinuously radial,
depressed; surface thin, smooth, with irregularly distributed small, circular pores;
umbilicus open, deep; aperture a low arch with a distinct but thin lip, interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical. |
Discussion / Comments: |
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Gr. (H.) bermudezi is considered to have evolved from Gr. (H.) scitula in the latest Pliocene. Gr. (H.) bermudezi is much
smaller, possesses inflated chambers on the umbilical side, and exhibits a more irregularly perforated test than G. (H.) scitula.
Because of its very small size, this species has not been identified by many workers. |
