Discussion / Comments: |
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
The flattening of the chambers of the last whorl in the direction of coiling gives the test the aspect of a paddle-wheel and clearly differentiates it from the other species of the genus.
Complete tests are rare; loose broken-off chambers, however, may be common and are easily recognizable.
The taxon is found in only a few areas (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and also the Indo-Pacific), but when present, it can be very abundant.
