Species Turborotalia griffininae Blow 1979 |
|
|
Discussion / Comments: |
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
This species has 4, exceptionally 4 1/2, globular chambers in the last whorl. The surface of the test is cancellate. The aperture is a widely open arch bordered by a distinct lip, umbilical-extraumbilical in position and extending somewhat towards the spiral side.
It differs from 'H.' bolivariana by its non-planispiral coiling and from 'H.' cf. bolivariana by its widely open aperture instead of a narrow slit.
