Discussion / Comments: |
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
G. mexicana mexicana is characterized by its small globular test and its small sutural apertures with distinct rims. It differs from G. mexicana barri by the lack of bullae and from G. mexicana kugleri by its more tightly coiled initial spire. G. semiinvoluta has a more embracing and hemispherical last chamber, high-arched apertures and indistinct sutures. All the other subspecies of G. mexicana are generally larger (except for the small, primitive G. subconglobata micro) and have a more robust test. |
