Discussion / Comments: |
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
G. subconglobata luterbacheri and G. subconglobata euganea are very large forms with diameters between 0.4 and 0.6 mm, occasionally up to 0.7 mm. The subspecies luterbacheri differs from euganea in a less regular test shape, which can be sub-globular or slightly elongate. The wall is thicker and more coarsely perforate. Apertures, particularly in larger specimens, are often covered by bullae which can become as large as a rudimentary end-chamber. The test of G. subconglobata euganea appears more compact and more spherical. G. subconglobata luterbacheri is also close to G. subconglobata curryi but can be distinguished by its narrower initial spire. |
