Species Globorotaloides carcoselleensis Toumarkine & Bolli 1957

Discussion / Comments:
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
Globorotaloides carcoselleensis, which appears during the Glo-bigerinatheka subconglobata subconglobata Zone, is the oldest , representative of the genus. In spiral view, the last chamber often looks smaller than the preceding one, but on the umbilical side it extends over the umbilicus and partly covers it as is typical for the genus. G. carcoselleensis differs from G. suteri mostly by a lower rate of increase of chambers of the last whorl and by the shape of the last chamber which is clearly elongate towards the umbilicus but does not cover it completely.
