Species Globorotalia pertenuis Beard 1969

Alternative name:
Discussion / Comments:
Bolli & Saunders (1985):
Specimens of the species have a similar overall morphology to G. multicamerata; intermediate forms are frequent (Figs. 35.13-15). Typical specimens of G. pertenuis differ in having distinctly more delicate walls and less developed peripheral keels. With 6-8 the number of chambers forming the last whorl is often slightly less when compared with the 8-10 of G. multicamerata.
Chaisson & Leckie (1993):
Similar species: G. cf. pertenuis is gradational with G. menardii s.l. and G. limbata, but it can be distinguished from the latter taxa by its distinctively thinner test and narrow, nearly closed umbilicus.
