Discussion / Comments:
Bolli & Saunders (1985):
The variability of G. acostaensis within the Globorotalia acostaensis Zone, for example in the well section Bodjonegoro1 of Java (Bolli, 1966b), is such that early specimens in the lowermost part of the zone are very small, mostly 4-chambered and with only shallow intercameral sutural depressions. A gradual development within the zone into larger forms with a dominance of 5 chambers takes place. The size range of the early 4-chambered specimens varies from 0.2 to 0.3 mm. The later, 5 chambered specimens may reach 0.4 mm or very slightly more.
