Bolli & Saunders (1985):
The Middle Miocene Globorotalia menardii (here termed G. (menardii 'A' introduced by Bolli (1970)) differs from G. praemenardii in a more strongly developed peripheral keel, in possessing on the spiral side limbate intercameral sutures, which are non limbate in G. praemenardii, and in displaying in the last whorl 6 against only 5 chambers. Furthermore, individual chambers of G. menardii 'A' are slightly less inflated on the spiral side and the test in equatorial view slightly less lobate, compared with G. praemenardii. The Middle Miocene G. menardii display considerable variability as is shown, for example, by Bolli (1957) |
