Discussion / Comments: |
Bolli & Saunders (1985):
The species differs from N. siphonifera (lectotype) in having more distinctly separated chambers which are less inflated. Due to the more evolute coiling, the early, low, trochospiral portion remains visible. According to its author the taxon ranges from within Zone N 7 (Globigerinatella insueta Zone, Early Miocene) to within Zone N 13 (Globigerinoides ruber Zone, Middle Miocene) and develops into H. siphonifera within the Globorotalia fohsi robusta Zone. |
