Species Globotruncana arca Cushman 1926

Discussion / Comments:
Caron (1985):
The two keels arc separated by a large imperforate peripheral band. The periumbilical rim is well marked. G. area differs from G. falsostuarti in the presence of two widely separated keels, present throughout the last whorl.
Van Eijden & Smit (1991):
Remarks. Forms intermediate between this species and G. rugosa (Marie, 1941) occur. Its local range is paleoenvironmentally controlled, and elsewhere it ranges from the Santonian to the middle Maestrichtian. We found it in the middle and also the upper Maestrichtian.
