Species Marginotruncana renzi Gandolfi 1942

Discussion / Comments:
Caron (1985):
It may be difficult to separate M. renzi from M. sigali, M. schneegansi or M. sinuosa. Typically, M. renzi has a iconvex, fairly low trochospiral test, with 5-6 chambers forming the last whorl and increasing slowly in size. The two closely spaced keels merge into a single one on the last or the last few chambers. Sutures are curved and raised in both spiral and umbilical sides. M. renzi differs from M. sigali in its double keel, from M. schneegansi in its raised umbilical sutures and from M. sinuosa in its petaloid-shaped chambers on the spiral side. For a more complete diagnosis and remarks on the status of M. renzi reference is made to Robaszynski & Caron, 1979, vol. 2, p. 133.
