Species Abathomphalus intermedius Bolli 1951

Discussion / Comments:
Caron (1985):
This species has been described as a transitional form from Globotruncanella havanensis to A. mayaroensis. It has a wide umbilical area and inflated chambers on the spiral side; the ventral keel may be absent on the last chambers of the final whorl.
Van Eijden & Smit (1991):
Remarks. Usually rare, commonly small, and with the second keel typically weakly developed, the A. intermedius that were found are intermediate with Globotruncanella pschadae (Keller, 1946).
