Discussion / Comments:
Jenkins (1985):
G. aculeata is very small (0.2 mm) with a delicate test. It appears to be related to T. inconspicua Howe in New Zealand, from which it is distinguished in not possessing a keeled periphery. It ranges from the Middle to Late Eocene in New Zealand and has been recorded at similar levels south of New Zealand at DSDP Site 277 (Jenkins, 1971, 1975). In South Australia it appears to have become extinct later in the Late Eocene (Lindsay, 1969).
