Diagnosis / Definition:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test low trochospiral, biconvex, equatorial periphery subangular, but not keeled, although some peripheral thickening occurs on the earlier chambers; chamber four to four and one-half in the final whorl, increasing slowly in size; sutures on the spiral side strongly curved, depressed, on umbilical side slightly sinuous to radial, depressed; umbilical side distinctly convex to rather vaulted. Surface uniformly perforate, smooth umbilicus small; aperture interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical a low arch with a thin lip.
Discussion / Comments:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Gr. (G.) praescitula is distinguished from its ancestor Gr. (G.) zealandica by an increase in number of chambers in the final whorl from four to four and one-half, an increase in curvature of the sutures on the umbilical side, peripheral compression, and a return to a low-arched aperture.
