Species Globigerinoides immaturus Le Roy 1939

Diagnosis / Definition:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test low trochospiral, chambers spherical, three in the final whorl increasing moderately in size as added; sutures on both sides radial to gently curved, deeply depressed; surface distinctly cancellate; umbilicus narrow; primary aperture interiomarginal, umbilical with a low to medium arch; last few chambers show single supplementary sutural apertures opposite to the primary aperture.
Discussion / Comments:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Gs. immaturus is closely related to both Gs. triloba and Gs. sacculifer, and populations show complete gradations. Gs. immaturus differs from Gs. triloba in exhibiting a much less dominant final chamber and from Gs. sacculifer by the absence of a terminal, elongate, sacklike chamber.
