Species Morozovella crater Finlay 1939

Discussion / Comments:
Jenkins (1985):
M. crater differs from M. caucasica in having 5 chambers in the final whorl as opposed to 61, in the holotype. The latter form i's rare in New Zealand. M. crater has a short range in the Early Eocene of New Zealand (Jenkins, 1971) and at DSDP Leg 29 Site 277 (Jenkins, 1975). Toumarkine (1978) recorded Globorotalia aragonensis caucasica from the Early Eocene of Leg 40 Sites 361 and 363 in the Southeast Atlantic, but did not record M. crater.
