Species Fohsella kugleri Bolli 1957

Discussion / Comments:
Van Eijden & Smit (1991):
Remarks. F. kugleri is common to dominant in the 125-250-ìm and <125-ìm fractions of many upper Oligocene samples. The species is connected to a form related to Globorotaloides suteri Bolli, 1957a, (here named Globigerina sp. cf. G. quinqueloba Natland, 1938) by intermediate forms. As the phylogenetical position of F. kugleri is uncertain, this may be significant.
