Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
Globigerinatheka index index has a fairly round test with rather large apertures at the base of the final chambers opposite the sutures. G. index index has thicker walls, a more rugose surface and more incised, crevice-like sutures than G. index tropicalis. G. index rubriformis has a higher initial spire, but the three, subspecies are all linked by intermediate forms. Some specimens may be difficult to assign to G. index index or to G. subconglobata subconglobata, but G. index index has a larger final chamber. |
