Alternative name:
Globorotalia conomiozea Kennett 1966
Diagnosis / Definition:
Kennett & Srinivasan (1983):
Test planoconvex, spiral side flat to slightly convex, umbilical side strongly vaulted; periphery subovate, fairly weakly lobulate, margin acute with strong keel; surface finely perforate, typically with pustules developed strongly on the umbilical side of early chambers; four to four and one-half chambers in the final whorl, inflated on the umbilical side; sutures on spiral side thickened, strongly curved; on umbilical side radial to slightly curved, depressed; umbilicus small, deep, aperture high arched, bordered by a lip, interiomarginal, extraumbilical.

Gr. (G.) conomiozea is distinguished from Gr. (G.) conoidea by its more strongly vaulted umbilical side and by having four to four and one-quarter chambers in the final whorl.
