Species Hantkenina mexicana Cushman 1925

Discussion / Comments:
Toumarkine & Luterbacher (1985):
In Hantkenina mexicana, the stellate aspect of the test is less pronounced than in H. nuttalli. H. liebusi Shokina (Figs. 24.6-7) has a larger final chamber and a more tightly coiled and laterally compressed test. Its chambers become imbricated. Many authors use the name H. mexicana in a broad I sense for all stellate representatives of Hantkenina from the earlier part of the Middle Eocene.
