Subspecies Globigerina bollii lentiana Rögl 1969

Discussion / Comments:
Rögl (1985):
The last chamber of the small 4 chambered subspecies is usually of the same size or smaller than the penultimate one. Compared with the generally larger G. bollii s.s., its descendant in the Middle Miocene, the chambers of lentiana are separated by more deeply incised sutures, which results in a more lobate periphery. Both taxa are abundant in certain horizons of the Ottnangian in the Paratethys and in the Langhian of the Mediterranean Neogene.
