Species Globorotaloides testarugosa Jenkins 1960

Discussion / Comments:
Jenkins (1985):
During its ontogeny the aperture of G. testarugosa is umbilicalextraumbilical, then becomes umbilical and is finally hidden by a bulla in the larger specimens; the holotype illustrates the first stage of growth; all stages are illustrated in Jenkins (1971). G. testarugosa with its coarsely pitted wall is a distinctive species in the Late Oligocene of southeastern Australia and New Zealand (Jenkins, 1960,1966a). It also has a similar range in DSDP Leg 29 Site 277 (Jenkins, 1975) and Leg 40 Site 360 (Tournarkine, 1978) and in South Australia (Lindsay, 1969).
