Subspecies Globorotalia fohsi peripheroacuta Blow & Banner 1966

Alternative name:
Globorotalia (Turborotalia) fohsi peripheroacuta Blow & Banner 1966
Discussion / Comments:
Bolli & Saunders (1985):
The morphological features of this subspecies differ from its ancestor peripheroronda in its average test size being slightly larger and in the later chambers of the last whorl possessing an acutely compressed periphery. As all intermediate stages from a rounded to an acute periphery occur during evolution, assignment of transitional specimens to one or the other of these two subspecies is often subjective.
