Species Rugotruncana circumnodifer Finlay 1940
Discussion / Comments:
Huber (1990): This species is distinguished by having strongly inflated chambers numbering four to five and one-half in the final whorl and paired keels on the equatorial periphery. The keels are usually not visible on the ultimate chambers and are sometimes only expressed by an imperforate peripheral band (e.g., Pl. 4, Figs 8-9). Surface ornament varies from randomly situated, small pustules to well-developed costellae aligned in a meridional pattern. Tegilla are usually preserved on the Maud Rise specimens. |
