Species Triton armatum Hupè 1854

Discussion / Comments:
Griffin & Nielsen (2008):
TYPE MATERIAL. The holotype is present in the Typothèque of the Laboratoire de Géologie under catalogue number MNHN-Gg2001/21. REMARKS. Sassia armata has been regarded as a synonym of Ameranella verruculosa (Sowerby, 1846) by many authors (e.g., Philippi 1887). However, the two species are quite distinct. Both species will be reviewed by A. G. Beu, who pointed out to us that this species must be placed in Sassia.
