Nielsen (2003):
Concholepas kieneri stammt aus dem Pliozän von Coquimbo und wurde von DeVries (1995, 2000) ausreichend diskutiert. Er berichtete auch von Exemplaren aus dem Miozän und Pliozän von Peru (DeVries 1995). An dieser Stelle wird ergänzend darauf hingewiesen, dass sich das Typusmaterial, bestehend aus zwei Syntypen, im MNHN-LG befindet. Die zwei Syntypen werden hier erstmals fotografisch abgebildet.

TYPE MATERIAL. Two syntypes housed in the Typothèque of the Laboratoire de Gèologie under number MNHN-Gg2002/86. REMARKS. Concholepas kieneri comes from Pliocene deposits near Coquimbo and has been sufficiently described and discussed by DeVries (1995, 2000). He also reported specimens from the Miocene and Pliocene of Peru (DeVries 1995). At that time, no information was available on the type material which was subsequently rediscovered and is figured here as photos for the first time.
